Welcome from the Chief Information Officer

Last Modified - October, 2009

Welcome to the Chief Information Officer Web site. This Web site provides an overview of IT at UB, providing links to UB's Strategic Plan for IT, 2009-2012 and a description of IT at the University at Buffalo, as well as information about IT organizations and committees, campus IT policies and information security, and shared common IT resources and services. Our information technology resources are aligned with the University's strategic plans to achieve academic excellence.

The rapidly changing path of information technology is expanding the borders of how we learn, discover, and communicate. IT provides the advanced infrastructure to help UB improve the quality of education and research, prepare our students for work in the twenty-first century, expand its role in the community and around the world, and act as good stewards of the environment and university resources.

UB has a distributed IT environment with many campus units providing IT services and resources. The Chief Information Officer is committed to partnerships and collaborative work with IT leaders across the campus.

Some key links follow:

We hope you will take the time to explore what is offered here and give us your feedback on areas where we can be of greater service to the campus.

Sincerely,
Elias Eldayrie
Chief Information Officer
